The work on the remodel project in the basement continues. This pictures shows the guys tearing down part of the chase so that they can install water lines, drainage pipes, electrical stuff, and redirect the heating duct work.
In this photo, they have finished all the above work and the new drywall has been put in place. Rob is just mudding the drywall.
The carpet on the stairs has been a real bear to remove. When the carpet was put down, it had to be stapled to the stairs in order to wrap around the edges and get the look of being folded under the edge of the step. Jason has been working off and on for 3 days now and has only removed about 2/3's of the carpet. There are so many staples per step that it's alot of hard work. The guys told me that before arriving tomorrow, they will be stopping to get the paint. There are a few areas where the ceiling needs to be texturized (is that even a word?!) since pieces had to be cut out for the electrical work. But they hope to be able to do that tomorrow and begin painting the primer. It should really look alot brighter down there.
