 Dad's Getting Better

My dad is doing much better today.  He is back to teasing and flirting with the nurses. Last night they moved him out of the thoracic surgery observation room into a regular room (still in thoracic area, but a private room no less). He is much happier there. The room is much bigger, has it's own bathroom, and he doesn't have to listen to the alarms on other people's IVs. They also have him on a pneumostat chest drain. This allows him more freedom to move around. He will most likely still have this when he goes home, hopefully in the next 2 days. This morning the nurse showed me how to drain it so when he does get home we can do it for him. It's really very simple.

He is able to get up as often as he wants to walk around his room or use the bathroom. They fixed his oxygen with a super extra long tubing so he can go pretty far. He is very happy about that!

Kitchen Renovation Project Week 4

They started laying the tile in the kitchen and bathroom. We are pretty much restricted to staying on the 2nd floor of the house until Thursday morning. All of the tile should be down today and they will be putting in the grout Thursday. Here's a picture of the kitchen tile.......
This picture shows a better view of the pattern (the color is more brown in this picture for some reason)............
This Friday the cabinets should start going in. I can't wait to see how they will look!
